third day doing this, still, it's probably the most "fun" i've had doing the whole blogging thing in a long time.
---
rapunzel... after seeing the princess and the frog last year, rapunzel is probably the movie i am looking forward to the most for all of 2010. it seems that disney animation can do good things again, and i am really interested in this "moving painting" cgi for this film. plus, the story is probably the best out of all the brothers grimm "princess" fairy tales. november 24th.
prince of persia... video game adaptation, which disney hopes will sort of hold together the pirates fans until on stranger tides hits (2011?). don't know about this, but really, it could be good. may 28th.
the sorcerers apprentice... yeah, this one i'm on the fence about, and really don't have high hopes for. it's directed by john turteltaub (national treasure films, which i enjoy to an extent... and cool runnings.), based upon the classic fantasia short of the same name, staring nicholas cage. what could go wrong? i'm interested enough to want to see it, scared because the short is amazing and is about a MOUSE using magic. july 16th.
beauty and the beast 3-d... never cared for the original version that much, but it probably has menken's (and ashman) best music behind aladdin. CANCELLED.
the runaways... probably won't see this in the theater, joan jett biopic. i have a thing for these types of fictional biographies, but still have not seen one better than walk the line. march 19th.
edge of darkness... mel gibson seems to be making a return this year. i don't like mel gibson. but this film, directed by the same guy who directed casino royal seems to be good at this type of film... plus, it's a revenge movie, which depending on the reason for the revenge, are usually pretty good. january 29th.
the adjustment bureau... no idea what this film is about. at all. it stars matt damon though. the reason it is on this list? i have a growing curiousity for author philip k. dick. the author wrote blade runner, minority report, a scanner darkly, and a short of his is the basis for the 2012 disney animated film king of the elves. he also wrote this story as a short called "the adjustment team". no date, no trailer, no poster (set photo below), just an ambiguous 2010.
the last airbender... it's avatar, but with a different name. directed by m. night shyamalan (signs, the sixth sense), who i really like... i'm also glad this isn't something he had 100% control in. never watched the cartoon, but everyone swore by it. july 2nd.
there are a ton of other movies that i want to say something about (snyder is directing an animated film), but for now this is today's list. depending on my mood tomorrow, there may be one more (shorter) movie blog. i really don't know... i loved doing these three posts though. they were not personal, they didn't make me think much, and they were just a "happy" thing to do.
because i love concept art, another rapunzel piece...
